Self-service as a concept

The library in Haarlemmermeer Floriande represents the very latest in technology, architecture, and interior design, in which self-service is the central concept.


The building exterior serves as a landmark in a new neighborhood, and its boldness brashly continues inside the building. Interior designer Aat Vos has used light flows and materials in an innovative way.


BCI´s Opal shelving system has been an important element in this context, where the end panels’ transparency and neon effect define the entire interior design.
